It has been a clean sweep for Paris Saint-Germain at the FIFA gala in Doha! Luis Enrique has officially been named The Best FIFA Men’s Coach 2025, following a historic season where he finally delivered the one trophy that had eluded the Parisian club for over a decade.
The Spanish tactician collected the award today, December 16, just hours before leading his side into the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo.
The Mastermind of the Treble
Luis Enrique’s victory comes on the back of a near-perfect 2024/25 campaign. He managed to move PSG away from the "individual-heavy" era and built a cohesive, high-pressing unit that dominated both France and Europe:
Champions League Glory: He led PSG to their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, capped by a stunning 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final.
Domestic Dominance: He secured a French "Treble," winning Ligue 1 (clinched with months to spare), the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions.
Tactical Innovation: He was praised for his "full-throttle" football style and his bravery in promoting young talents like Bradley Barcola and
Warren Zaïre-Emery into leading roles.
How the Voting Went
Luis Enrique faced stiff competition from the Premier League and La Liga, ultimately beating out a prestigious shortlist:
Rank,Coach,Team,Key Achievement
1st,Luis Enrique,PSG,"UCL, Ligue 1, Coupe de France"
2nd,Hansi Flick,Barcelona,La Liga Title
3rd,Arne Slot,Liverpool,Premier League Runners-up
Other nominees included Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea), and Roberto Martínez (Portugal).
A "Golden Era" for PSG
Enrique’s award was part of a broader night of recognition for the French giants. Five of his players were named to the FIFA FIFPro World XI, and his star winger Ousmane Dembélé took home the night's biggest prize, The Best FIFA Men's Player.
Even the goalkeeper award went to a former Enrique pupil, Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose heroics under the Spaniard last season earned him the trophy despite his summer move to Manchester City.
"This trophy is for the method," Enrique said during his acceptance speech. "We transformed financial power into a sporting reality through hard work and a collective vision."
