Manchester United Seal Deal for Atalanta Midfielder Éderson 🔴🇧🇷

Manchester United has officially reached a club-to-club agreement with Atalanta to sign Brazilian midfielder Éderson. The 26-year-old is set to become the first signing of the Michael Carrick era at Old Trafford.

The Details of the Deal

Transfer Fee: United will pay an initial fixed fee of £35 million (€40.5 million), with an additional £3.8m–£4m (€4.5 million) in performance-related add-ons.

Contract: The midfielder has agreed to a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2030, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

Timeline: The move is expected to be finalized in early July once the player undergoes a medical examination.

Strategic Importance

The pursuit of Éderson was identified as a priority by Carrick and Director of Football Jason Wilcox to bolster the midfield following the departure of Casemiro, whose contract expired at the end of this month.

Known for his dynamism, ability to anchor the midfield, and proficiency in winning duels, Éderson arrives after accumulating 180 appearances for Atalanta since 2022. He is expected to be the first of potentially three central midfield additions this summer as United looks to build on their return to the UEFA Champions League for the 2026/27 campaign.
