The Pack Grows! Adam Armstrong Swaps St Mary’s for Molineux ๐ŸŸ️๐Ÿบ๐ŸŸ

Rob Edwards has his man! In a busy deadline-day move on Monday, February 2, 2026, Wolverhampton Wanderers officially completed the signing of Adam Armstrong from Southampton.

As Wolves look to replenish their frontline following the club-record departure of Jรธrgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace, Armstrong returns to the Premier League in

a deal worth £7 million plus £2 million in add-ons. The 28-year-old striker has signed a long-term contract at Molineux, securing his future with the Old Gold until June 2030.

The Deadline Day Profile: A Proven Finisher

Armstrong arrives at Molineux in blistering form, having netted 11 Championship goals for the Saints in the first half of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Fee: A bargain-hunting masterstroke by Wolves—securing a goal-threat of Armstrong’s caliber for a total package of £9 million.

The Manager’s First: Armstrong becomes the first signing under the Rob Edwards era at Wolves, with the head coach citing the striker's "competitor" mentality as a key factor in the move.

Versatility: While he views himself as a traditional "No. 9," Armstrong’s ability to play off the flanks gives Edwards tactical flexibility as Wolves fight for Premier League survival.

A New Chapter After Four-and-a-Half Years

Armstrong leaves Southampton as a promotion hero, famously scoring the winner in the 2024 Play-off Final at Wembley. He spoke emotionally about the move:

Adam Armstrong: "I'm so proud and honoured. It was in the pipeline for a little bit, and it seemed to happen so quick. I’ve played against the gaffer's teams before and I know how he works. I'm excited to become a part of the project."

The Verdict: With the funds from the Strand Larsen sale, Wolves have moved quickly to add Premier League experience and a proven goalscorer.

If Armstrong can translate his Championship efficiency to the top flight, this £7m investment could be the bargain of the window.
