Ronaldo’s Al Nassr Break League Record with Historic Start

History has been made in Riyadh. On Saturday, December 27, 2025, Al Nassr became the first team in Saudi Pro League history towin their opening 10 consecutive matches of a season. The milestone was secured with a clinical 3–0 victory over Al Akhdoud at Al-Awwal Park.

Under the guidance of legendary Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus, Al Nassr have achieved a feat that has eluded the league’s giants for decades, surpassing the previous record of nine straight opening wins held by Al Hilal (2018/19).

CR7 Strikes Again: The Captain Leads from the Front

As he has done so many times throughout 2025, Cristiano Ronaldo was the catalyst for the victory. The 40-year-old superstar bagged a first-half brace to take his league tally to 12 goals for the season, putting him joint-top of the Golden Boot race alongside teammate João Félix.

31’ | The Opener: Ronaldo broke the deadlock with a clinical close-range finish after a corner delivery from João Félix was flicked on by Angelo Gomes.

45+1’ | The Backheel Magic: Just before the break, Ronaldo doubled the lead with a spectacular backheel flick following a squared pass from Marcelo Brozović—a goal that brought the home crowd to their feet.

The Milestone: These two goals marked Ronaldo’s 40th goal of the calendar year 2025, an extraordinary achievement that sees him reach 40+ goals for a 14th separate calendar year.

The "New Look" Al Nassr: A Winning Machine

While Ronaldo takes the headlines, the record-breaking start is a testament to the club's massive summer recruitment.

The addition of João Félix (who scored the third goal late in second-half stoppage time) and Kingsley Coman has turned Al Nassr into an offensive juggernaut.

What’s Next for the Record-Breakers?

Al Nassr will look to extend their "perfect" run to 11 games when they travel to face Al-Ettifaq on Tuesday, December 30. With Ronaldo now just 44 goals away from the legendary 1,000-goal milestone, every match is becoming a global event.

The Verdict: Al Nassr aren't just winning; they are dominating. The combination of Cristiano Ronaldo’s timeless finishing and the creative sparks of João Félix and Marcelo Brozović has made them the undisputed favorites for the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League title.
