Based on his interview on the Diary of a CEO podcast, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp said that a return to the club is "theoretically possible" in the future.
Klopp also reiterated that he would never coach another team in England, meaning a comeback to Liverpool is his only option in the Premier League.
However, Klopp emphasized that a return is not imminent and he is currently enjoying his new role as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer,
which he began in January 2025.
Key points from the podcast interview
"Theoretically possible": Klopp stated, "I said I will never coach a different team in England so that means, if [I did return], then it's Liverpool.
So, yeah, theoretically it is possible".
No immediate plans: The German stressed that he is currently happy and does not miss the demanding schedule of a manager, including press conferences and the long hours.
Loving his current role: Klopp is involved in a project he loves at Red Bull and believes he can only do a job well if he is 100% focused on it.
Respect for successor: During the interview, Klopp also spoke positively about his successor, Arne Slot, who had a successful first season with Liverpool, winning the Premier League.
Manchester United snub: He also revealed that he had the chance to take over at Manchester United in 2013 but turned it down.
In summary, while Klopp has not ruled out a future return, he has no desire to get back into management at the present time.
