Liverpool are considering a push to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson in January as they look to reinforce their midfield options.

Liverpool are eyeing a potential move for Atalanta midfielder Éderson in the January 2026 transfer window, though an official bid has not been confirmed.

The club has reportedly been following the player's progress for some time, with interest resurfacing ahead of his contract expiry in June 2027.

Transfer Context

Club Interest: Liverpool has been linked with Éderson, who was part of the Atalanta team that beat them in the 2023-24 Europa League quarter-finals. Other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Manchester City, are also reportedly interested.

Agent Comments: The player's agent has indicated that Atalanta will likely sell the midfielder in the winter or summer window, and with his contract running down, the asking price could be around £25-35 million, a significant drop from the previous £50-60 million valuation.

Player Stance: Éderson has previously expressed a desire to play in the Premier League but has not specified a preferred club.

Club Denials: However, some sources suggest that senior Liverpool figures have indicated that Éderson is not a high priority on their current shortlist and reports of a deal being close are "wide of the mark".

This indicates that while there is interest, the move is currently at the speculation stage, and no formal agreement or bid has been made as of early December 2025.
