It is official! Gianluigi Donnarumma has been crowned The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper 2025 at the ceremony in Doha.
The Italian shot-stopper has become only the second Italian to win the award, following in the footsteps of the legendary Gianluigi Buffon (2017). His victory completes a personal "double," as he also took home the Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d'Or ceremony earlier this year.
The "Wall" of Paris and Manchester
Donnarumma’s win is primarily based on his impenetrable form during the 2024/25 season with Paris Saint-Germain, before his high-profile move to Manchester City late this summer.
European Glory: The deciding factor was undoubtedly his role in PSG's first-ever UEFA Champions League title. He kept a crucial clean sheet in the 5-0 final victory over Inter Milan on May 31, 2025.
Domestic Treble: In France, he was the backbone of a side that won Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions.
Seamless Transition: Since joining Manchester City on September 1, he has maintained world-class form, helping Pep Guardiola’s side stay in the heat of the Premier League title race.
The Final Standings
Donnarumma emerged at the top of an elite list of finalists, chosen by a combination of national coaches, captains, journalists, and fans:
1st,Gianluigi Donnarumma,PSG / Man City,UCL Winner & Domestic Treble

Double Joy for City
Manchester City fans have even more to celebrate tonight. Not only did their new #25 win the individual goalkeeper prize, but he was also named as the goalkeeper in The Best FIFA Men’s World 11, marking a dominant year for the 26-year-old.
"I feel extremely proud to be named the best in the world, ahead of such extraordinary goalkeepers for whom I have great respect," Donnarumma said. "It has been an incredible year... I now look ahead to achieving more success with Manchester City."
