Édouard Mendy signs a new contract with Al Ahli until June 2028!

Al Ahli has officially secured their defensive anchor for the long term. Édouard Mendy has signed a new contract extension with the Saudi Pro League giants, keeping him at the club until June 2028.

The deal was finalized and announced on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, just before the goalkeeper joins up with the Senegal national team for AFCON 2025.

Reward for Excellence

Mendy’s original contract was set to expire in 2026, but his performances since arriving from Chelsea in 2023 have made him indispensable to Matthias Jaissle’s project.

Pivotal 2025: Mendy’s renewal comes at the end of a historic year where he helped Al Ahli lift the Asian Champions League title in May.

A Unique Legacy: By winning the ACL, Mendy became the first goalkeeper in football history to win continental club trophies on three different continents (Africa, Europe, and Asia).

The Stats: Since joining the Jeddah-based club, the 33-year-old has made 92 appearances, keeping 39 clean sheets.
