Former Spurs director Paratici returns to club after 30-month FIFA ban

Based on news reports, Tottenham Hotspur has officially announced the return of Fabio Paratici as co-sporting director.

This follows his 30-month ban from football, which expired in July 2025. The move is part of a wider restructuring of the club's leadership.

Here's a breakdown of the new setup and fan reaction:

Split responsibilities: Paratici will share the sporting director role with Johan Lange. Paratici will focus on player-related matters like transfers, loans, and player pathways. Lange, who was promoted, will handle scouting, performance analysis, and the academy.

Paratici's consulting period: After his ban was upheld, Paratici resigned from Tottenham in 2023 but continued to act as a consultant for the club.

According to ESPN, he has been advising CEO Vinai Venkatesham, head coach Thomas Frank, and Lange for months.

Club leadership overhaul: This announcement follows a major restructuring at Spurs, which saw longtime chairman Daniel Levy step down last month.

Mixed fan reaction: The decision has sparked a range of opinions among Spurs supporters.

While some acknowledge the negative aspects of his previous tenure, others view his return positively, citing his passion for the club and transfer track record.
